Executive Board Meeting Minutes
August 18, 1988
Corporate President Fred Perkins called
the meeting to order at 7:44 P.M. at
this Cooper City home. Other officers
present were V-P Pat Ceraolo, Secy.
Susan Rosenthal, Treas. Stan Feller,
Libn. Oscar Kraehenbuehl and Chapter
Reps. Mack Maloney (Dir., FL), Charley
Matuszak (Dir., WPB) and Alan Goldfarb
(Asst. Dir., SB).
The minutes of the previous meeting
were accepted as read.
REPORTS
V-P: The time for the annual picnic is
fast approaching. The proposed date is
Oct. 22, with Oct. 15 as an alternate.
The location will again be Birch State
Park. Chapter Directors were asked to
solicit from chapter members donations
that can be used as prizes.
SECY: InCider maagazine has replied to
our request for a special user group
rate on subscriptions. The discount
ewas found to be less than their
promotional discounts, so no action was
taken to present this offer to the
membership. -- Information about the
club was sent to Victoria Floyd at the
Miami Herald for publication.
TREAS: The current balance is
$3,769.11, including discretionary
funds of $530.24 for FL, $414.65 for
SB, $35.92 for ND and $18.55 tp WPB.
LIBN: At Oscar's suggestion and with
the consensus of the Board, DS/DD 3
1/2" disks will sell for $1.00 more
than SS/DD. -- The Library subsection
has been created on the club BBS.
CHAPTERS: (FL) will be meeting in
temporary quarters for the next few
months due to construction at NE H.S.
-- The program for the next meeting is
not yet set. (WPB) had a good turnout
for the beginners' meeting last month
and a very successful demo of
Publish.It. Next month's demo will be
on printer codes. (SB) and FL had an
excellent joint meeting. Next month's
program will be videotapes, including
one of highlights from the Boston
Applefest.
GPC Fred reported for Mike Horowitz
that the modems were shipped August 15
and we should receive them very soon.
ALAN GOLDFARB reported that the
in-store displays are virtually
completed and that the PA system
components are all compiled and need
only to be assembled and tested.
PRES: A demo version of the RocketChip
is expected to arrive on August 31. --
The BBS phone link to either Delray
Beach or Boynton Beach is still being
negotiated. -- The New River Raft Race
will be held Sept. 11 this year;
volunteers are needed to help time the
race. -- Roby Sherman resigned as
Newsletter Editor and Stan Feller has
volunteered to take over. -- A
professional trade show organizer in
the WPB area is willing to develop a
Florida "Applefest", probably in the
Orlando area. This will take about one
year to complete, once the commitment
is firmed up with him.
There was no old business.
NEW BUSINESS
Stan Feller moved to allow the same
expenditure of funds on the picnic as
for last year's. Motion carried
unanimously.
There being no further business, the
meeting adjourned at 9:31 p.m.
SUSAN ROSENTHAL, Secretary
