  2.     Executive Board Meeting Minutes

  4.             August 18, 1988

  6. Corporate President Fred Perkins called
  7. the meeting to order at 7:44 P.M. at
  8. this Cooper City home.  Other officers
  9. present were V-P Pat Ceraolo, Secy.
  10. Susan Rosenthal, Treas. Stan Feller,
  11. Libn. Oscar Kraehenbuehl and Chapter
  12. Reps. Mack Maloney (Dir., FL), Charley
  13. Matuszak (Dir., WPB) and Alan Goldfarb
  14. (Asst. Dir., SB).

  16. The minutes of the previous meeting
  17. were accepted as read.
  18.  
  19.              REPORTS
  20.  
  21. V-P: The time for the annual picnic is
  22. fast approaching.  The proposed date is
  23. Oct. 22, with Oct. 15 as an alternate.
  24. The location will again be Birch State
  25. Park.  Chapter Directors were asked to
  26. solicit from chapter members donations
  27. that can be used as prizes.
  28. SECY: InCider maagazine has replied to
  29. our request for a special user group
  30. rate on subscriptions. The discount
  31. ewas found to be less than their
  32. promotional discounts, so no action was
  33. taken to present this offer to the
  34. membership.  -- Information about the
  35. club was sent to Victoria Floyd at the
  36. Miami Herald for publication.
  37.  
  38. TREAS:  The current balance is
  39. $3,769.11, including discretionary
  40. funds of $530.24 for FL, $414.65 for
  41. SB, $35.92 for ND and $18.55 tp WPB.
  42.  
  43. LIBN:  At Oscar's suggestion and with
  44. the consensus of the Board, DS/DD 3
  45. 1/2" disks will sell for $1.00 more
  46. than SS/DD. -- The Library subsection
  47. has been created on the club BBS.
  48. CHAPTERS: (FL) will be meeting in
  49. temporary quarters for the next few
  50. months due to construction at NE H.S.
  51. -- The program for the next meeting is
  52. not yet set. (WPB) had a good turnout
  53. for the beginners' meeting last month
  54. and a very successful demo of
  55. Publish.It.  Next month's demo will be
  56. on printer codes.  (SB) and FL had an
  57. excellent joint meeting.  Next month's
  58. program will be videotapes, including
  59. one of highlights from the Boston
  60. Applefest.

  62. GPC Fred reported for Mike Horowitz
  63. that the modems were shipped August 15
  64. and we should receive them very soon.
  65.  
  66. ALAN GOLDFARB reported that the
  67. in-store displays are virtually
  68. completed and that the PA system
  69. components are all compiled and need
  70. only to be assembled and tested.
  71. PRES: A demo version of the RocketChip
  72. is expected to arrive on August 31. --
  73. The BBS phone link to either Delray
  74. Beach or Boynton Beach is still being
  75. negotiated. -- The New River Raft Race
  76. will be held Sept. 11 this year;
  77. volunteers are needed to help time the
  78. race. -- Roby Sherman resigned as
  79. Newsletter Editor and Stan Feller has
  80. volunteered to take over. -- A
  81. professional trade show organizer in
  82. the WPB area is willing to develop a
  83. Florida "Applefest", probably in the
  84. Orlando area.  This will take about one
  85. year to complete, once the commitment
  86. is firmed up with him.

  90.           NEW BUSINESS
  91.  
  92. Stan Feller moved to allow the same
  93. expenditure of funds on the picnic as
  94. for last year's.  Motion carried
  95. unanimously.

  98. meeting adjourned at 9:31 p.m.
